Thank you for choosing Grayc’d Collection by Blessed Tresses!

Our premium human hair collections are thoughtfully selected for their quality, beauty, and versatility. Proper maintenance is essential to preserving the softness, natural luster, texture, and longevity of your investment.

Follow these recommended care instructions to keep your extensions and hairpieces looking their best.

1. Inspect Your Hair Before Installation

Upon receiving your order, carefully inspect your hair for any concerns before installation, coloring, cutting, or altering the product.

  • Keep all bundles, wefts, and original packaging intact during inspection.
  • Verify the length, texture, color, and overall condition.
  • Contact us promptly if you notice any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Review our Return & Exchange Policy before making alterations.

Important: Installing or chemically altering hair may affect its eligibility for a return or exchange. Please refer to our official policy for details.

2. Shampooing & Conditioning

Proper cleansing helps preserve moisture, softness, and manageability.

  • Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo formulated for human hair extensions.
  • Avoid products containing harsh or drying ingredients.
  • Gently work shampoo through the hair in a downward motion. Do not scrub, bunch, or vigorously rub.
  • Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  • Apply a moisturizing conditioner, concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends.
  • Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb, starting at the ends and working upward.
  • Allow conditioner to sit for 3–5 minutes or as directed by the product manufacturer.
  • For additional hydration, use a deep-conditioning treatment as needed.
  • Rinse thoroughly and gently remove excess water with a microfiber towel.
  • Allow hair to air-dry whenever possible, or blow-dry using a low-heat setting and appropriate heat protectant.

Avoid applying heavy conditioners, oils, or treatments directly to extension bonds, tapes, or attachment points.

3. Daily Maintenance & Styling

  • Brush or detangle gently, beginning at the ends and working upward.
  • Use lightweight styling products to minimize buildup.
  • Avoid excessive heat and always apply heat protectant before using hot tools.
  • Use flexi rods, rollers, or other heatless styling methods whenever possible.
  • For wavy and curly textures, lightly mist with water or a suitable leave-in conditioner to refresh the curl pattern.
  • Avoid excessive manipulation, particularly when hair is wet.
  • Never sleep with wet extensions.

4. Nighttime Protection

Protecting your hair while sleeping helps minimize tangling, friction, and unnecessary shedding.

  • Detangle hair gently before bedtime.
  • Secure straight or wavy hair in one or two loose braids or a low ponytail.
  • For curly textures, use a loose pineapple or another protective method appropriate for the curl pattern.
  • Sleep with a satin or silk bonnet, scarf, or pillowcase.
  • Avoid sleeping with loose, tangled, or damp extensions.

5. Swimming & Water Exposure

Chlorine, saltwater, and prolonged water exposure can contribute to dryness, tangling, and color changes.

  • Minimize exposure to chlorine and saltwater whenever possible.
  • Secure hair before swimming to reduce tangling.
  • Rinse hair with fresh water immediately after swimming.
  • Follow with gentle cleansing and moisturizing conditioning as needed.
  • Ensure hair and attachment areas dry thoroughly.

6. Coloring & Chemical Processing

Although many premium human hair extensions can be professionally colored or styled, chemical processing may alter the texture, integrity, and lifespan of the hair.

  • Consult a licensed professional before coloring, bleaching, or chemically treating your extensions.
  • Always perform a strand test before applying chemical products.
  • Avoid excessive bleaching, repeated processing, or unnecessary chemical treatments.
  • Understand that previously processed or gray-blended hair may respond differently to additional coloring.

Please note: Grayc’d Collection cannot guarantee results following chemical alterations or processing performed after purchase.

7. Special Care for Shades of Grey

Our Shades of Grey collection features beautiful silver, white, gray, and blended tones that may require additional maintenance.

  • Use color-safe, moisturizing products to preserve softness and shine.
  • Minimize excessive heat, which may contribute to dryness or discoloration.
  • Use purple or toning shampoo only when appropriate and sparingly to avoid unwanted color deposits.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine, harsh chemicals, and excessive sunlight.
  • Deep-condition as needed to maintain softness and manageability.

8. Weft & Extension Care

  • Avoid cutting or splitting wefts whenever possible.
  • If a weft must be cut, have a professional properly secure the cut ends to help minimize shedding.
  • Never brush aggressively near extension attachment points.
  • Avoid excessive tension or pulling during styling.
  • Follow your stylist’s recommended maintenance and removal schedule.
